Battery chargers

EDW Controls Ltd manufactures a wide range of battery and energy conversion products. Our comprehensive range of control and monitoring PCBs together with power modules enables us to quote competitively against most specifications. We specialise in giving the customer exactly what they need for their application.

Most of our charging systems are constant voltage type with electronic current limit. For maximum reliability and ruggedness conservatively rated thyristor control is used with choke ballast. This minimises fault currents and limits battery ripple current to 20% of charging current.

All systems use a transformer to provide the necessary a.c. voltage for the rectifiers and to provide the necessary isolation.

All transformers are manufactured to EN60742.
